La Dolce Vita

Hello Friends of the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic,

A couple of weeks ago, I sent many Philharmonic supporters an invitation flyer announcing a very exciting event the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic is sponsoring through their affiliate group: "Friends of the Phil." The gala: La Dolce Vita! is chaired by new board member Klara Bergman.

See the printable flyer which will give you most of the details.

We have been very pleased with the response, and since the newspapers have started publishing our press releases, the reservation list has increased dramatically. Thank you, to all who have sent in their reservations. Several people have asked me if they will be able to purchase entrance tickets at the door. Well, we planned to have some tickets available at the door, even though there is an RSVP due-date on the flyer. (Which states "rsvp by Nov. 6."). This still might be possible, but I would strongly suggest that you make your reservations in advance, so that you are assured a place in the restaurant.

We purposely priced the event to be quite reasonable. By keeping the cost low, we felt it would attract a large group of people ... many long-time supporters and hopefully many new folks who are unaware of what we do as an organization. Having a group of our young artists there to perform will be a vivid example of the quality of our regular concerts. We hope La Dolce Vita provides a fine introduction of the T.O. Phil to many people who will then become members of our audience and then eventual supporters. La Dolce Vita has evolved into a Friend-raiser more so than a Fund-raiser. Since the original flyer went out a couple of things have been added to the evening. There will be a raffle for wonderful gift baskets filled with terrific items. We have made available a SEASON TICKET for our three concerts of 2009. This will be available for purchase at the event, and many will be gift- wrapped for those wanting to give an exceptional and memorable gift for any occasion. VIP seats for the three concerts at the Civic Arts Plaza are $100, general seating season tickets will be $60. Regular price of general admission is now $25/$15/$10. General/Senior/Student. Of course, the VIP tickets will be the best assigned seats in the house, and only a limited number will be available.

In addition to the mini-recital featuring outstanding young artists from our area, TOPhil alumnus Aaron Meyer, a recent graduate of Stanford, will be at the piano during the cocktail hour. His CDs will be available for purchase, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic. It is a wonderful gesture on the part of this extremely talented artist. We will also be introducing our newly appointed conductor, Richard Rintoul. This will certainly be an exciting evening for all. Don't miss it!

Klara has an office in Santa Maria, and her assistant, Sharon Pittman, is taking all reservations, which is why the Santa Maria address is provided for sending checks (payable: "Thousand Oaks Philharmonic") Credit cards (VISA, MC, DISC) are also accepted. Please make an effort to attend ... tell your friends ... bring your friends. There are a few VIP tables left (6, 8 or 10 guests) if you want to sponsor a group. Sharon can be reached a multitude of ways. Her contact info follows: 805-937-9199, ext. 205, by email at: assistant@kbergmangroup.com or by post:
